We fix your teeth while you sleep

Sedation dentistry in South Dakota

At Infinity Sedation, your comfort begins the moment you walk in. We start by understanding your anxiety level and any past experiences that may affect your care. Whether you have dental anxiety or just prefer a more relaxed experience, our advanced sedation methods help you receive the care you need with ease and comfort.

Can you really relax in the dentist’s chair?

Our board-certified anesthesiologists and medical team work together to ensure your comfort and safety, offering:

  • Nitrous Oxide: Mild relaxation for minor procedures
  • Oral Sedation: More relaxation for moderate anxiety
  • IV Sedation: Deep relaxation for more complex needs

While you sleep comfortably, our complete team of specialists—including oral surgeons, endodontists, and periodontists—works together to address all your dental needs in one visit. This means fewer appointments and faster results, all while you rest peacefully.

What sedation options do you provide?

We offer nitrous gas (laughing gas), oral sedatives with a Valium prior to your appointment, and IV sedation administered by a board certified anesthesiologist and registered nurse.

Is dental sedation safe to use?

When we started infinity 16 years ago our goal was to have safe and predictable sleep sedation. To offer sedation in a dental office the dentist must be trained in order to host sedation. Our office is overseen by board certified anesthesiologist who are medical doctors and have a 4 year residency after that. We use experienced registered nurses for your pre-op and post-op. We are dedicated to making sure we use the highest standard of care at every stage of your treatment.

Can I complete all my dental work in a single visit with sedation?

Depending on your dental needs, most sedation procedures can be completed in one visit. We can do cleanings, fillings, most root canals, extractions, and the start of the implant process all in one appointment.

How should I prepare for dental sedation?

Your safety and comfort begin with proper preparation. We ask that you avoid eating or drinking for 8 hours before your appointment – this is essential for safe sedation. If you have a morning appointment, enjoy a satisfying dinner the night before since you’ll need to skip breakfast. During your consultation, our board-certified sedation team will provide detailed pre-appointment instructions and answer any questions you have about preparing for your procedure.

Will I experience any discomfort during the procedure?

You can feel completely at ease knowing you’ll be comfortable throughout your entire procedure. The sedation process is gentle – similar to drifting off to sleep and waking up from a relaxing nap. Our experienced team monitors you continuously to ensure your comfort and safety from start to finish.

Are there any after-effects of dental sedation?

It’s normal to feel somewhat groggy as you wake up from sedation, but this feeling gradually improves throughout the day. Some patients may experience mild nausea, but don’t worry – we proactively address this by administering IV medications during your procedure to help prevent this side effect.

Can everyone undergo dental sedation, or are there limitations?

Your safety is our highest priority, which is why every patient undergoes thorough screening by our experienced sedation team. While we provide the safest possible sedation for all patients treated at Infinity Sedation Dentistry, there may be cases where a patient’s health status indicates that in-office sedation isn’t the best option. In these situations, we’ll discuss alternative approaches to ensure you receive the care you need.
